Aaron Plesset is an associate in Michelman & Robinson’s Orange County office and a valued member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. A Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US), he provides strategic counsel to clients navigating the complex landscape of privacy, intellectual property, and compliance.

Aaron’s practice includes advising on privacy and data protection matters, such as assessing and updating privacy policies to meet TCPA, CCPA, and CPRA standards, and ensuring alignment with California’s CIPA. His experience extends to HIPAA compliance, where he helps healthcare organizations implement robust strategies to safeguard sensitive information.

In the intellectual property arena, Aaron is adept at trademark registration and brand protection through copyright, trade dress, and patent litigation. He works closely with clients to safeguard their innovations, mitigate risks, and maintain a competitive edge.

Before joining M&R, Aaron was a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Steven Z. Perren of the California Court of Appeal, Second District, and a Senior Research Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. During his tenure with the Federal Reserve, he co-authored two significant articles published in Liberty Street Economics: “COVID-19 and the Search for Digital Alternatives to Cash” and “The Money Market Mutual Fund Liquidity Facility.”

Aaron earned his J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where he distinguished himself in several leadership roles, including as Managing Editor of the Journal of Law and Technology and President of the Jewish Law Students Association. He graduated with honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara, earning distinction as an undergraduate.
